Mikuni Takes Suggestions From Guests For Random Acts of Kindness

SACRAMENTO, CA- Mikuni Charitable Foundation is asking restaurant guests, Facebook fans and Twitter followers to recommend their favorite charitable organizations for a random act of kindness. Mikuni will take suggestions through January 31, 2013, and then select from all the choices and make financial donations. The only criteria is the charities have to be a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization doing business for at least three years. In the first week, Mikuni has received over 100 recommendations.

Mikuni Charitable Foundation has donated over 1.1 million dollars to various charities in the Sacramento region including Sutter Cancer Center’s Breast Cancer Navigator Program, Courage Worldwide and Closing the Gap for educational achievement. In addition, Mikuni donates in-kind to charitable organizations at their annual fundraisers. A recent event raised $50,000 for Wind Youth Services which provides shelter for homeless youth.

“We consider it a privilege to work with organizations who do amazing things for people who are struggling with a health issue or lack of education,” says Taro Arai, co-owner of Mikuni Restaurant Group, Inc. “I know first-hand the challenges that can present themselves and how support coming from a stranger can make a life-changing difference.”
