Northstar Resort to Host Annual Beerfest & Bluegrass Festival

A summer favorite, the Northstar Resort Beerfest & Bluegrass Festival will return to the Village at Northstar on Saturday, July 10, 2010 featuring beer tastings by more than 25 regional breweries, a tasty barbeque and live music by three first-rate bluegrass bands, Mud Thump, The Brothers Comatose and The Dixie Bee-Liners. Event patrons will enjoy great music and summer in the Sierra while sampling ale from some of Northern California and Northern Nevada’s most popular brewers.

The event kicks off at 2 p.m., with beer served until 7 p.m. and live music continuing until 7:30 p.m. on the Village Stage. Mud Thump will start things off at 2 p.m., followed by The Brothers Comatose at 4 p.m. and headliner, The Dixie Bee-Liners at 6 p.m. Building on the tremendous success of their 2008 bluegrass chart-topper, RIPE, The Dixie Bee-Liners most recently introduced their album Susanville, noted as a musical road trip along America’s highways and byways.

Tickets are just $30 per person for guests ages 21+ and include a commemorative pint glass, unlimited, responsible beer tastings and live music. Non-alcoholic beverages and barbeque fare will also be available for purchase. Tickets can be purchased at the Tickets & Season Pass office in the Village at Northstar, by calling 1.800.GO.NORTH, or online at www.NorthstarAtTahoe.com.

Guests are encouraged not to drink and drive. Complimentary shuttles will be offered from Northstar Resort to Kings Beach, departing the resort on the hour from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m., and from Northstar Resort to Truckee, departing at 7 p.m. and 8 p.m.
